What the free VinAudit result provides
VinAudit’s homepage directs the visitor to enter a VIN or U.S. license plate, review a free summary of records found and then complete an order to see the full document. The free summary can reveal whether deeper data appears to exist and can confirm basic identity, but it may blur locked categories unless the buyer distinguishes “record found” from the actual event detail.
Use the summary to decide whether a paid report is relevant to the candidate. Before paying, match the decoded vehicle to the listing and physically verify the VIN. A preview for the wrong or mistyped VIN has no decision value, regardless of how many categories it displays.
Consumer packs and dealer billing are separate
The consumer FAQ listed $9.99 for one report, $19.99 for five and $29.99 for ten. The effective per-report price is therefore $9.99, about $4 and about $3 respectively. A bundle only saves money when the buyer will use the credits under the live terms, so confirm expiration and account access in the order shown to you.

Those additions have different sources and reporting schedules, so read source labels and dates section by section.
A useful report is still one input. Resolve an active theft flag with law enforcement, check current recalls at NHTSA, confirm lien release with the title authority and inspect the vehicle. VinAudit itself says some vehicles have limited data because source reporting varies.
