ClearVIN vehicle-data processing
When you request a ClearVIN preview or purchase a ClearVIN vehicle history report, the submitted VIN is sent to ClearVIN so it can locate available vehicle information and generate the requested provider report.
We may retain the ClearVIN report identifier, fulfillment status, the original report file, integrity information and report-access activity for secure delivery, customer support, billing disputes, fraud prevention and contractual recordkeeping. Full payment-card details remain with the payment provider.
Service providers and disclosures
We may share the minimum necessary information with payment, authentication, hosting, database, email, analytics, fraud-prevention and vehicle-data providers. Providers may process information in another country under their applicable contractual and legal safeguards. We may also disclose information when legally required or during a business transaction.
Retention and security
Retention depends on account, order, tax, dispute, security and contractual needs. We use access controls, encryption and monitoring designed to protect data, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
