Audi factory warranty coverage
These are Audi’s published U.S. coverage periods for new vehicles. Each runs from the warranty start date, and whichever limit — time or mileage — is reached first ends that coverage.

How to check remaining coverage on a VIN
- Decode the 17-character VIN to confirm model, model year, and whether the car is an e-tron with separate high-voltage battery coverage.
- Determine the in-service date, the day the vehicle was first delivered or put into service. The 4-year/50,000-mile term and the 4 years of roadside assistance both run from it.
- Ask an authorized Audi dealership to run a warranty status check by VIN; it returns remaining new vehicle coverage, corrosion coverage, any Audi Care maintenance balance, and open recalls.
- Check separately whether the car carries an Audi Certified pre-owned Limited Warranty, because that coverage follows different rules from the factory warranty.
- Confirm the terms against Audi's published warranty information for the correct model year. The figures above were verified on audiusa.com and in Audi's official warranty literature in August 2026.
Does the warranty transfer to a second owner?
Audi's factory coverage stays with the VIN: Audi's own Certified pre-owned booklet states that when New Vehicle Limited Warranty coverage remains at the time of a used purchase, it continues to provide coverage for the new owner until it expires, and a CPO buyer also receives the balance of the 12-year corrosion perforation warranty. Note one important exception: an Audi Certified pre-owned Limited Warranty sold on or after August 1, 2023 can only be used by the original CPO purchaser and does not transfer again.
What a warranty check cannot tell you
- Whether previous damage or modification has voided coverage on a specific component.
- Whether required maintenance was performed — manufacturers can deny claims where servicing was neglected.
- Anything about title brands, accident history, or odometer records; those are separate VIN checks.
- The status of open safety recalls, which are repaired free of charge regardless of warranty.
