- Find the 17-character VIN on the driver-side dashboard plate, the driver's door jamb label, or your registration, title, and insurance documents.
- Contact the selling Subaru retailer first if you know it, because that store usually still holds the delivery file for the vehicle.
- If the selling retailer is unknown or closed, call the sales or service desk at any authorized Subaru retailer and ask them to look up the VIN in Subaru's internal system.
- Ask specifically for the original Monroney label, not a build sheet or a used-vehicle listing printout, because those are different documents.
- If no retailer can retrieve it, contact Subaru of America customer support with the VIN and your proof of ownership.
What to know before you look
- Retailer access to original Monroney records is best for recent model years. For older vehicles the record often no longer exists, and no reprint is possible at any price.
- The label shows the original base MSRP and destination charge, every factory-installed option and package with its price, EPA fuel economy estimates, and the NHTSA safety ratings published at the time of sale.
- A window sticker is not a build sheet. The build sheet is an internal production document listing raw option codes and assembly data; the Monroney is the federally required consumer label that carries pricing.
- The sticker describes the vehicle only as it left the factory. It carries no ownership, accident, title, odometer, or service history.
