How to get a Tesla window sticker by VIN
- Read the 17-character VIN, visible at the bottom corner of the windshield on the driver's side, and note the model and trim it identifies.
- Sign in to your Tesla Account, select Manage under the vehicle, and open the Documents section, where Tesla stores the signed purchase paperwork for that VIN.
- Ask the previous owner or the selling dealer for the Monroney label that was delivered with the car if you bought it used, since Tesla issues the label only for new vehicle purchases.

- Cross-check the trim against the model-year options list, because Standard, Long Range and Performance versions carry different battery warranty terms and different EPA range figures.
What to know before you look
- Tesla states that Monroney labels are only available for new vehicle purchases and does not publish a VIN-based reprint service, so a used Tesla's original label is usually recoverable only from the paperwork that came with the car or from the account it was delivered under.
- The Monroney label is required by the Automobile Information Disclosure Act (15 U.S.C. 1232) and lists the base price, each option with its price, the destination and order fees and the total, plus the EPA fuel economy and environment label with the rated range and MPGe, NHTSA safety ratings where assigned, and parts content information.
- Tesla does not publish a dealer-style build sheet. The nearest equivalent is the configuration recorded in the Tesla Account and displayed in the vehicle's own software, which shows the trim and the software options active on that car.
- The label describes the car as ordered and priced when new. It shows nothing about accident history, title status, previous owners, battery degradation since new, or open recalls, so it answers only what the car was, not what it has become.
What a window sticker cannot tell you
- Anything that happened after the car left the factory: accidents, title brands, odometer history, or liens.
- Whether the options listed are still fitted, or still work.
- The current market value — the MSRP shown is the original suggested price for that model year.
- Whether open safety recalls apply to this vehicle; that is a separate VIN check.
