Its FAQ says it charges a one-time fee per report or for multi-report packages and does not offer subscriptions or recurring billing. Its prices appear only after a bot-verification step and could not be read on October 8, 2026. It says it accesses NMVTIS through an approved provider it does not name. One VIN. One $14.99 history report.
For $14.99, VIN Lookup delivers an original ClearVIN vehicle-history PDF for the VIN you enter. ClearVIN appears on the DOJ provider list; VIN Lookup resells its report and is not itself listed as an NMVTIS provider. The report may include data beyond the NMVTIS core, but the records returned vary by VIN.
The VIN decode is free. No card is needed until you choose to buy; applicable tax is shown at checkout. A missing record is not proof that an event never happened.Original provider PDF

The homepage promises a free decode confirming year, make, model, trim and engine, and says it shows whether a full history report is available. Its FAQ states that FAXVIN charges a one-time fee per report or discounted multi-report packages and does not offer subscriptions, auto-renewals or recurring fees; its terms repeat that it does not offer recurring billing.
On October 8, 2026, the order page sat behind a “verifying you are human” check, so we could not read the report price. Check it at checkout and compare it with the one-time prices below.

Contents, sources and refunds
FAXVIN’s FAQ lists title history and brands, latest title odometer, total-loss and theft flags, lien, impound and export flags, prior states, open recalls, and service, inspection and auction entries where available. Its NMVTIS page says it accesses NMVTIS title and brand data through an NMVTIS-approved provider; FAXVIN itself is not on the DOJ list.
Its refund policy, effective February 25, 2026, accepts requests within 14 days for non-delivery not fixed within 24 hours, reports with no history records (case by case) and duplicate charges, with a decision within 48 hours.
How to verify FAXVIN before you pay
On October 8, 2026, the DOJ approved-provider page listed twelve primary consumer providers; FAXVIN is not among them and says it obtains NMVTIS data through an approved provider it does not name. Open the list from vehiclehistory.bja.ojp.gov rather than from a link on a seller’s site, and confirm the exact domain you are about to pay. Lookalike domains and resellers that are not listed cannot sell an official NMVTIS report.
An approved listing confirms access to the federal NMVTIS title core. It does not certify the accuracy of commercial add-ons, a renewal schedule or a refund policy. Record the total due today, any later charge, the number of VINs covered and how long the report stays downloadable, then compare that with a $14.99 one-time report before you choose.
