Direct answer

Compare EpicVIN and carVertical on two separate questions: which records matter for the car’s registration history, and what the selected offer will charge. EpicVIN’s Global page shows a trial that renews monthly; carVertical’s pricing page did not expose a verifiable checkout amount in this review. No universal price winner or same-VIN coverage winner is established. VIN Lookup publishes this comparison and offers a separate one-time U.S. report.

  • Record the exact regional offer and any renewal before paying.
  • Match source coverage to the countries and years in the vehicle’s history.
  • A larger advertised database does not prove more records for your VIN.

Compare the bill after the introductory offer

On September 20, 2026, our visit to EpicVIN’s pricing URL redirected to its Global page. It displayed a $1 three-day trial followed by $99.99 per month plus applicable sales tax, with cancellation through the account. The trial terms limit checks to five reports per day. This is the observed Global offer, not a claim about every region or every EpicVIN purchase option.

If that trial renews once, the stated charges total $100.99 before tax: $1 plus $99.99. That arithmetic describes one renewal of the observed offer, not what every customer pays. Someone who cancels under the trial terms or chooses a different package has a different bill.

The carVertical pricing page noted that VAT may apply, but no selectable report price was available in the content retrieved during this review. A price mentioned in a testimonial is not a checkout quote. Confirm the selected market, currency, package and final total directly.

An imported car needs a country-by-country timeline

carVertical describes sources from international registries, insurers, law enforcement and garages. That is relevant to researching a car that crossed borders, but the network description does not establish a complete history for a particular vehicle. Check the origin country and registration dates against the actual returned entries.

Make a simple timeline before selecting a report: last registration abroad, export or auction date, import date and first registration in the destination country. A missing year is a question to investigate. A second report repeating the first U.S. title does not explain the period before import.

Compare odometer units as well as values. For example, a reading recorded in miles followed by one in kilometres cannot be compared by subtracting the displayed numbers. Keep the original units and source dates, then ask for supporting documents if a discrepancy remains. This example is a research method, not a diagnosis of the car.

When a one-time U.S. report is a useful alternative

For U.S. title and history research, VIN Lookup lists a separate $14.99 report fulfilled by ClearVIN. Payment is one-time, and the original provider PDF is the delivered document. Our public sample lets you inspect its title entries, mileage timeline and auction evidence before you enter a VIN.

Choose the product around the unanswered question. U.S. title events may help with the domestic part of an imported vehicle’s timeline; they do not replace records from its earlier country. If the only concern is present repair quality, an inspection addresses a different question from another history purchase.

We have not run a controlled comparison of EpicVIN and carVertical on identical VINs. The practical outcome of this page is a purchase checklist: the countries needed, the records sought, the selected billing terms and the document to retain. It does not rank either database as universally more accurate.

Buyer checklist

  1. List registration countries and dates.
  2. Match the VIN on each document.
  3. Keep mileage units with every reading.
  4. Record upfront and renewal charges.
  5. Confirm cancellation and credit terms.
  6. Read a sample and identify the evidence gap.

What this research cannot prove

  • The EpicVIN amount is from the Global offer observed, not a universal regional rate.
  • No current carVertical checkout amount was verified.
  • No same-VIN accuracy test was performed; VIN Lookup has a commercial interest.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Is EpicVIN always cheaper than carVertical?

No universal price comparison is established here. Compare the selected checkout totals and later charges; an introductory trial amount alone is not the full cost.

Which report is better for an imported car?

Start with the countries and missing periods in that vehicle’s history. Compare the available dated records and obtain the import and registration documents; this review does not establish a same-VIN coverage winner.

Can I choose a report without a subscription?

VIN Lookup offers its separate ClearVIN-fulfilled report for $14.99 once. Inspect the public sample and available VIN preview before buying; it is not an EpicVIN or carVertical report.
