See what the paid report includes →InfoTracer sells VIN checks through a membership, not a single report. On October 8, 2026, its VIN page advertised unlimited vehicle lookups for $1.00, and its sign-up page offered seven days of unlimited access for $2.95, then $24.95 a month until cancelled; unused months are not refunded. The DOJ lists InfoTracer, RecordsFinder.com and StateRecords.org as additional websites under GoodCar, while all three name InfoPay, Inc. as their operator. RecordsFinder and StateRecords displayed no price before checkout.
- The low entry price starts a monthly membership.
- Cancel by phone, email or account page before the trial ends.
- InfoTracer says it is billed even when a report has no or incorrect information.
- VIN and plate searches are restricted to purposes permitted by the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act.
One VIN. One $14.99 history report.
For $14.99, VIN Lookup delivers an original ClearVIN vehicle-history PDF for the VIN you enter. ClearVIN appears on the DOJ provider list; VIN Lookup resells its report and is not itself listed as an NMVTIS provider. The report may include data beyond the NMVTIS core, but the records returned vary by VIN.
The VIN decode is free. No card is needed until you choose to buy; applicable tax is shown at checkout. A missing record is not proof that an event never happened.Original provider PDF

Trial and membership terms displayed October 8, 2026
InfoTracer’s VIN check page advertised unlimited vehicle history lookups for $1.00 without showing its length or renewal on that page. Its general sign-up page stated seven days of unlimited access to all searches and reports for $2.95, followed by $24.95 a month. Its terms say membership is billed monthly in advance and the unused portion of a month is not refunded.
RecordsFinder.com and StateRecords.org use the same model: a trial on first purchase, automatic monthly renewal and no refunds for unused billing periods. Neither displayed a dollar amount in the pages we could read. StateRecords’ terms list vehicle history reports among premium items not included in regular membership.

What the vehicle report claims
InfoTracer’s VIN page lists title records, ownership history, accidents, problem checks, values and recalls, along with odometer, junk and salvage, total loss, flood damage, lien records and warranty information. Its footer states that Infopay, Inc. (dba InfoTracer) is an approved NMVTIS data provider.
A people-search membership can suit someone who needs many lookups over a month. For one used car, compare the trial and renewal against a one-time report, and keep the cancellation phone number before you start.
How to verify InfoTracer before you pay
On October 8, 2026, the DOJ approved-provider page listed InfoTracer, Recordsfinder.com and StateRecords.org as additional websites under GoodCar.com, one of twelve primary providers; the three sites themselves name InfoPay, Inc. as operator. Open the list from vehiclehistory.bja.ojp.gov rather than from a link on a seller’s site, and confirm the exact domain you are about to pay. Lookalike domains and resellers that are not listed cannot sell an official NMVTIS report.
An approved listing confirms access to the federal NMVTIS title core. It does not certify the accuracy of commercial add-ons, a renewal schedule or a refund policy. Record the total due today, any later charge, the number of VINs covered and how long the report stays downloadable, then compare that with a $14.99 one-time report before you choose.
Buyer checklist
- Read the renewal amount before entering a card.
- Note the cancellation route and trial end date.
- Use the lookup only for a DPPA-permitted purpose.
- Cancel if you need one car only.
- Verify title and recalls through official tools.
What this research cannot prove
- The $1.00 offer’s renewal terms were not displayed on the VIN page.
- Ownership statements on the DOJ list and the sites differ in naming.
- Prices were read from outside the United States.
