How do I sign in to VIN Lookup?

Go to the sign-in page and pick one of three routes: Continue with Google, a six-digit code emailed to you, or a password if you happen to have set one. The product never asks you to create a password, so the emailed code is the main route — type your email, press the button, then enter the six digits. Use the same address you gave at checkout, because purchases attach to that verified email.

The three routes
Continue with Google is the top button; it hands sign-in to Google and returns you to whatever page you were heading for. Below it, enter your email address and press “Email me a sign-in code”: a six-digit code arrives, the screen switches to six boxes, and you can paste all six digits at once. Under that is a quieter option — “Prefer a password? Use your password” — which only helps if a password already exists for that address.
Whichever route you take, the address matters more than the method. If you bought a report as a guest, the sign-in screen tells you plainly: use the same email from checkout and the purchase appears automatically. That works because paid orders under a verified email address are attached to the account holding it.
If Google signs you in but the library is empty
That is almost always an address mismatch. Your Google account carries its own email, and if it is not the address you typed at checkout, the purchase will not attach — the order page says “Use the same email as secure checkout” and, for privacy, does not display which address the order used. Sign out, then sign in with the checkout address using the emailed code instead.

- If the library looks empty, check which address you signed in with.
What this does not cover
- The password option only works for an address that already has a password; the product never requires you to create one.
- Code requests are rate limited per email address and per network, so rapid repeat attempts are asked to wait a moment.
- Signing in does not merge two different email addresses. Each purchase stays with the address that paid for it.
