How do I use a report credit on a VIN?

Open the order page you landed on after payment, or your dashboard if you signed in, and find the report wallet. Type one 17-character VIN into the field marked “VIN for your next vehicle history report”, then press Generate this report. That assigns one credit to that VIN and starts the provider request. Assign one VIN at a time; your other credits stay attached to the same order until you come back.

Where the VIN field lives
A pack puts credits on your order, not a report on a vehicle, so there is a second step after paying. The place to take it is the report wallet, headed YOUR REPORT WALLET. It shows on the order page you reach immediately after payment, and it shows again inside your dashboard once the order is attached to a signed-in account.
Inside the wallet is one labelled field: “VIN for your next vehicle history report”. It upper-cases what you type, stops at 17 characters, and keeps the Generate this report button disabled until all 17 are there — so a half-typed VIN cannot spend anything.
What happens when you press Generate this report
The VIN is checked for shape first, then sent to your order, which spends one credit and queues the provider request. The wallet states the accounting in its own words: the credit is held during preparation and consumed only after the report is delivered. The list above the field shows that report as “Preparing your provider-issued PDF” until it becomes “Ready to open” with a link.
Assign one VIN at a time. If you submit a VIN this order has already seen, the wallet tells you it is already assigned to this pack and that no second credit was used — the order keeps one job per VIN, so a double paste costs you nothing.

- Read the VIN off the windshield, door label, title or registration and confirm it matches the car.
- Type or paste the 17 characters into the wallet field.
- Press Generate this report and wait for the status to change.
- Come back and repeat for the next vehicle whenever you are ready.
What this does not cover
- The wallet only renders for pack orders. A single $14.99 report is generated for the VIN you confirmed at checkout, so there is no VIN field to fill in afterwards.
- A credit can only be assigned while the order is paid and its entitlement active; an order paused for a payment dispute or manual review will not accept another VIN.
- Assignment requests are rate-limited to 20 per hour per requester.
