ClearVIN is the vehicle-data provider that generates the history report VIN Lookup sells, which is why the PDF carries their name. Your purchase and checkout agreement is with VIN Lookup, not ClearVIN. The report is stored and delivered unmodified — nothing is rewritten, restyled or stripped of its attribution and disclaimers. When last reviewed on August 31, 2026, ClearVIN was listed by the U.S. Department of Justice as an approved NMVTIS consumer provider.

Who you buy from, and what gets sent where
The purchase agreement is with VIN Lookup. The ClearVIN conditions are incorporated into VIN Lookup's Terms of Service and apply whenever you request, access, download or use a ClearVIN-supplied preview or report, but you do not enter into a separate checkout contract with ClearVIN.
When you request a preview or buy a report, the submitted VIN is sent to ClearVIN so it can locate the available vehicle information and generate the document. VIN Lookup may retain the report identifier, fulfilment status, the original report file, integrity information and report-access activity for delivery, support, billing disputes, fraud prevention and recordkeeping. Full payment-card details stay with the payment provider.
What you may do with the report
Access is limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable, for your own vehicle research or an internal business decision. You may keep a copy for that purpose. You may not resell, publish, redistribute, scrape, systematically extract, reverse engineer or use the report to build a competing database or data product, and provider notices may not be removed.
ClearVIN reports rely on records supplied by government agencies and other third parties, provided on an as-available basis, and can contain inaccuracies, omissions or delays. Neither a report nor a preview is a warranty of a vehicle's condition, title, ownership or accident history, and neither replaces document verification or an independent inspection.
