How do the 3-report and 5-report packs work?

A pack is three or five report credits added to your order; after payment you assign one VIN per credit, one at a time, whenever you are ready.

Answer

A pack adds report credits to your order rather than buying a report for one VIN up front: $29.99 for three credits, $44.99 for five. After payment you assign one VIN at a time from your order page. Each credit is held while that report is prepared and consumed only once it is delivered. Every credit unlocks the same complete provider report format.

  • You do not need any VIN at checkout to buy a pack — only to spend a credit.
  • A credit is held during preparation and spent on delivery, not on submission.
  • A confirmed non-billable failure returns the held credit, and re-submitting a VIN already in the pack does not use a second one.

Buying credits, then spending them

The checkout page for a pack says it directly: you are buying report credits, not a report for one VIN. After payment, enter a VIN for each report from your order page — one credit is spent per VIN, whenever you are ready. That is why a pack checkout asks for no VIN, while a single report still does.

On the order page, the pack panel shows how many credits are ready, how many are delivered, how many are in progress and how many are still unassigned, and it takes one 17-character VIN at a time. The other credits stay attached to that order while you decide.

What happens when a VIN goes wrong

If the provider holds no vehicle-history record for a VIN you submit, the order page says so and leaves your credit untouched so you can try another vehicle. If you re-enter a VIN already assigned in that pack, it tells you no second credit was used. A failed, confirmed non-billable lookup returns the held credit to your wallet.

Credits are tied to the order that bought them. If the payment is refunded, disputed or revoked, the panel says so rather than pretending the credits are still spendable, and ready reports show as paused. Only a paid order held for manual review keeps its already-delivered reports openable while the remaining credits are frozen.

Steps

  1. Buy the pack size that matches the number of cars you will really research.
  2. Check each VIN character by character against the car before spending a credit.
  3. Assign one VIN, let it deliver, then move to the next.
  4. Download each PDF as it arrives.
  5. Keep the order ID, in case support needs it.

What this does not cover

  • Pack options appear at checkout only while pack purchasing is switched on for the site; when it is not, the single report is what is offered.
  • The product copy says credits stay on your order until you use them, with no expiry pressure — but the current policy does not state a specific expiry date either way, so keep your order access details.
  • Coverage still varies VIN by VIN: spending a credit does not guarantee a rich report for that vehicle.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to pick all the VINs at once?

No. Credits stay on your order and you assign one VIN at a time, whenever you decide.

Can I use a credit on a car I have not found yet?

Yes. Unassigned credits sit on the order with no VIN attached until you enter one.

Is a pack report smaller than a single report?

No. Every credit unlocks the same complete provider report format, with the same sources and coverage labels.

What if I only need two reports?

Compare honestly: divide the pack total by its credits, then multiply by the reports you will actually use. A pack you do not finish is not a saving.
