Can I add more credits to my order later?
Not to an existing order — there is no top-up. You buy another one-time order, and the dashboard totals the credits from all of your orders together.
Check the review date and linked sources for context. Live availability, prices and record coverage can vary by VIN, source, jurisdiction and time.
Not to an order you already paid for. Every purchase is a separate one-time order: checkout creates a new order for the product you chose, and no endpoint exists to add credits to an existing one. What you do instead is buy again — another single report at $14.99, three at $29.99 or five at $44.99. The dashboard then adds the remaining credits from every order into one total.
- Credits belong to the order that created them; a pack cannot be extended after payment.
- Buying again creates a second order that appears alongside the first in My Reports.
- The REPORT CREDITS figure on the dashboard is the sum of unused credits across all of your orders.
Why a top-up does not exist
Each plan is sold as a one-time purchase with a fixed number of credits: one, three or five. Checkout takes the product code you picked, creates a pending order for it and sends you to the payment provider; the only order endpoints after that read the order, claim it to your account, or spend one credit by assigning a VIN. There is no route that increases the credit count on an order that already exists.
You can see the same boundary in the pack screen. When a pack has no credits left, assigning another VIN returns the message that every credit in this pack has already been assigned — the pack is a closed wallet, not a balance that can be refilled.
What buying again looks like
Run checkout a second time and choose whichever plan fits: a single report at $14.99, three credits at $29.99 (about $10.00 each) or five at $44.99 (about $9.00 each). The new order appears as its own card in My Reports with its own date, amount and order reference, and its own credits to spend.
Nothing is lost by splitting purchases across orders. The dashboard's REPORT CREDITS metric sums the remaining credits from every order you own, so two orders with one credit each still read as two credits available — you just assign each VIN inside the card of the order that holds the credit.
Steps
- Check your remaining credits on the dashboard before buying again.
- Pick the plan that matches how many VINs are left on your shortlist.
- Expect a second order card, not a bigger first one.
- Assign each VIN inside the order card that still has credits.
What this does not cover
- There is no published upgrade path that credits what you already paid toward a larger pack.
- Credits do not move between orders, so a spare credit on one order cannot rescue an exhausted pack on another.
- Refund treatment of unused credits is governed by the refund policy, which describes a review rather than a guaranteed outcome.

Frequently asked questions
Can I upgrade a 3-pack to a 5-pack after paying?
No. The plans are separate one-time products and checkout creates a new order for whichever one you choose. The current policy does not state any upgrade or price-difference path between packs after payment.
Do the credits from two orders combine into one pack?
Not into one pack. Each order keeps its own credits and its own card in My Reports. The dashboard shows a combined REPORT CREDITS total, but a VIN is assigned inside the specific order that still has a credit.
Is it cheaper to buy a pack than two single reports?
Per report, yes. A single report is $14.99, three credits are $29.99 (about $10.00 each) and five are $44.99 (about $9.00 each), all one-time purchases with no subscription.
