How do I open the report PDF?

Press 'View report' on your report page. It opens the original ClearVIN PDF in a new tab, served inline by the site rather than handed to a third party. On a wide screen the same document is already embedded in the page, so you can read it without leaving. On a phone, the block headed 'Open the full ClearVIN report' opens it in your browser's own PDF viewer. Nothing is re-typed or re-rendered — it is the provider's document, unchanged.

What each control does
A ready report page shows three actions: 'View report', 'Download PDF' and 'My Reports'. 'View report' requests the report's view endpoint, which sends the file with an inline disposition so your browser displays it instead of saving it. Below the actions, the panel titled 'ClearVIN vehicle history report' embeds the same document in a frame, labelled 'Original document · unchanged'.
On a narrow screen the frame is replaced by a card that says the original document opens in your browser's PDF viewer, with an 'Open full report' button and a 'Download PDF instead' link. Both routes serve the identical file.
If it will not open
If the page says the report is still being prepared, it is: the server refuses to serve a file until the report row is marked ready and the stored object matches its recorded SHA-256 hash, size and PDF content type. That check is deliberate — it is what stops a truncated or substituted file being presented as your report. The page keeps polling and changes by itself when the document lands.
If instead you are told the link needs verified access, the browser you are using is not the one that paid and is not signed in. Sign in with the checkout email, or open the link in the original checkout browser. Report existence is never confirmed to an unauthorised visitor, so the same message appears whatever the report ID.

What this does not cover

Why does it say the report is still being prepared?
The report row is not yet ready, or the stored file has not passed its integrity check. The page rechecks on its own and switches to the document when it is genuinely available.
Why is the page asking me to sign in?
Report links are private. Access comes from the browser that paid or from a signed-in account whose verified email matches the purchase. Anything else sees the same 'needs verified access' message.
Is the PDF modified or re-typed by VIN Lookup?
No. The page labels it the original, unmodified ClearVIN report, and the server compares the stored object against its recorded hash and size before serving a byte of it.
Can I read it without downloading?
Yes. The view route sends the file inline, and the report page embeds it, so reading it in the browser is the default path.
