No. The report-ready email carries links, not an attachment: a View report button and a Download PDF link, both pointing at your private report page. The PDF itself is kept behind verified access, so opening it needs either the browser you checked out in or a sign-in with the same verified email. Press Download PDF and the file saves once that access is confirmed.

Why it is a link and not a file
A vehicle history report is private to the order that paid for it. An attachment leaves that control the moment the email is forwarded, sits in a mailbox that may not be yours alone, and cannot be checked against anything. A link can be: the download route only serves the file to a request it can authorise, and it verifies the stored document against its recorded fingerprint and size before signing a short-lived download address — so a substituted or truncated file is never handed over as your report.
That is also why the email explains, under “Opening on another device?”, that you sign in with the same verified email you used at checkout. Your original checkout browser can open the report directly while its temporary private access is still active.
Getting the file onto your device
Press Download PDF in the email. That opens your report page with a download request attached; the page confirms access, then starts the download automatically and tidies the request out of the address. The file arrives named clearvin-original-report-<your report id>.pdf.
You can do the same thing from the report page itself, which shows View report, Download PDF and My Reports once the report is ready. If the report is still being prepared, the download answers that it is not ready yet rather than sending an incomplete file.

- Sign in with the checkout email if the page asks for verified access.
- Save the downloaded file somewhere you can find it again — you can also re-open it from My Reports.
What this does not cover
- The download address that is finally handed to your browser is short-lived, so a copied download link will not work later; start again from the email or your report page.
- Downloads are limited to 30 per hour per requester.
- The current policy does not offer an emailed attachment as an alternative, including on request.

Can I forward the email so someone else can open the report?
Forwarding the email does not pass on access. The links lead to a page that checks for your checkout browser or a sign-in with the verified email on the order.
What if the download link says the report is not ready?
That means the document has not finished preparing. The report page checks by itself and changes as soon as it is ready, so leave it open or come back to it.
Is the PDF changed in any way before I get it?
No. The email states that the original ClearVIN PDF is delivered with its findings unchanged, and the stored file is verified against its recorded hash and size before any download is signed.
