What does 'This order is temporarily protected' mean?

It means new VIN assignments on that order are paused while it is reconciled. Your payment stands, and delivered reports stay openable during a review.

Answer

It means the server has paused new VIN assignments on that order while it is reconciled — not that your money or your delivered reports are gone. The message appears when a pack tries to queue another VIN on an order that is not currently in a deliverable state. Contact support with the order reference before trying again.

  • The block is on queueing a new VIN, not on your purchase.
  • During a manual review the order is still recorded as paid, and reports that already delivered keep their Open report link.
  • A different pause — a refund or a bank dispute — removes or suspends report access instead, and the order status banner says which one applies.

What the server is checking

Before spending a credit, the server requires two things at once: the order's payment status must be paid and its entitlement must be active. If either is not true — a refund, a dispute, a revoked entitlement — it returns a not-deliverable result, the endpoint answers with a conflict, and the pack prints the sentence you saw.

Nothing is consumed by that refusal. The credit is not spent, and no job is created for the VIN you typed.

Reports you already have stay openable during a manual review

This was a deliberate fix. Gating the report links on the ability to queue hid a pack's already-delivered PDFs behind a paused label the moment one sibling VIN was quarantined, so the code now keeps them separate: queueing another VIN stays paused, opening what you bought does not.

If the pause instead followed a refund, report access is removed following the refund, and a payment dispute pauses access while the payment provider reviews the transaction.

What this does not cover

  • The sentence itself does not say which case applies — the status banner at the top of the order page names the state.
  • No policy page states a turnaround for a manual check; the contact page's published response target is two business days.
  • If the pause followed a refund or a chargeback, the outcome is removed access, not a resumed pack.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Do I lose the credits I have not used yet?

A manual review does not cancel the order or its entitlement — the order is still recorded as paid and the wallet still shows its credits. A refund or chargeback is different: it revokes the entitlement.

Should I pay again to get around it?

No. The wallet explicitly asks you not to submit another payment while confirmation is pending, and the incident email asks you not to place another order for the same vehicle.

What should I send to support?

The email used at checkout, the order or report ID, and a short description. Never send full payment-card details or identity documents by email.

Can I assign the VIN to a different order in the meantime?

Only if you have another pack with an unassigned credit. Credits cannot be moved between orders.
